Spring Ridge Book Swap

The annual Spring Ridge Book Swap will be back this February. If you are going through your children’s books this holiday season to make room for new ones, please save some for the Book Swap. We especially need books for our older readers. Parents of 4th & 5th graders, we welcome any chapter books you may be able to donate! New to Spring Ridge and wondering what a Book Swap is? Book Swap is a time when students can trade in their lightly used books for books that other students have turned into the swap. Here’s how it works: In early February, students can bring in as many lightly used books as they want to donate. On the date of the Book Swap (Wednesday, February 26th), students can shop the Swap! They can take up to 4 new-to-them books home, depending on how many books they bring to the swap. For example, if your child brings 4 or more books to trade, he/she may take 4 books. If your child brings 3 books to trade, he/she may choose 3 to take home, and so on and so forth. What do we do with the extra books? Teachers get to shop the Swap as well! Any remaining books will be donated to an Omaha school or the A Book of My Own program run by the Jr. League of Omaha.

Spring Ridge Staff Appreciation

We will be organizing group gifts for our fabulous Spring Ridge Staff. Please click the link below to make your donation. Recommendation is $10/student or any amount you are comfortable with. We are excited to include all Spring Ridge Staff members in this gift. PTO Meeting: Monday, April 6

WHEN: Monday, April 6, 7:00 pm WHERE: Spring Ridge Library   PTO meetings are open to all parents/guardians.  Meetings are held the 1st Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Spring Ridge library and childcare is provided.  If you would like to submit an item for inclusion on the agenda please contact the Spring Ridge PTO or any board member.  Meeting minutes will be posted within two weeks of the meeting. Did we mention childcare is provided? It's been a while - we know you missed us! Be sure to join us on December 2!

Last Day of School

To say it's been a weird end to the year would be an understatement. A big THANK YOU to our teachers and staff for making online learning possible, and to all the parents and caretakers out there that made it possible at home. We miss you all terribly, and look forward to seeing you all in AUGUST. (Yep, we said it. August. It's gotta happen!) Looking ahead for important dates for next school year? 5th Grade Graduation

Hello parents of 5th Graders! Mark your calendar for the 5th Grade Graduation celebration which is tentatively set for Wednesday, May 20th (subject to change with addition of snow days). The ceremony, with refreshments following, will take place in the morning at school, followed by a group party at SkyZone. At this time, we are requesting that each parent send TWO pictures of your child to  by April 1. One picture should be from kindergarten and the other should be a current picture. The pictures can be their school pictures from those specific time periods or another picture of your choice. We would prefer electronic copies of all pictures although hard copies will be accepted. Here’s a suggestion: if you only have a hard copy, take a picture of the picture and email. When sending your pictures, please LABEL or identify who you are. For example, the file name could be “your child’s name, 5th grade” or “your child’s name, kindergarten”. In addition to the individual pictures, we are also asking for group pictures that you’ve taken over the last 6 years. Here are a few guidelines: group pictures taken only at school events will be accepted; this DOES include first day of school, last day of school, classroom parties, Eagle Report, the carnival, field trips, Battle of the Books, Girls on the Run, Destination Imagination, etc. We would prefer that the picture have 3 or more kids included. Please do not send pictures of birthday parties or athletic teams. Group pictures should be emailed to by April 1. All of the requested pictures will be arranged to music and played at the graduation ceremony. Each student will receive a copy for keepsake.
